Ebola Killed One Person In Texas


Washington - Liberian man who is the first person with Ebola diagnosis outside the continent of Africa, died in a hospital in Texas, according to a statement authorized officer, on Wednesday (08/10/2014).

"With deep sorrow and sincere grief, we must tell you about the death of Thomas Eric Duncan on this morning at 07:51 (local time, at around 12:51 GMT)," said a spokesman for Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas Wendell Watson on Wednesday. 

"Mr. Duncan died of a dangerous disease, Ebola. He fought valiantly in this battle," said Watson. Duncan flew from Liberia to Texas to visit family.

Arrived in Texas on 20 September 2014, Duncan began to feel ill four days later. However, he had undergone treatment at the hospital on 28 September 2014. 

Criticism was directed to the hospital when they asked Duncan to undergo outpatient when he first checked on September 25, 2014, Duncan returned home despite the reported symptoms of ebola and said newly arrived from Liberia, the country most affected by this epidemic.

"The past week has been a great test for our health system, but for a family has become a much more personal thing. They (the family) that have lost family members," blasted Texas health commissioner David Lakey. 

Throughout the weekend, Duncan condition worsened, rising from a serious status becomes critical. On Saturday (10/04/2014), he began to undergo an experimental treatment, brincidofovir. On Monday (06.10.2014), the doctor said that Duncan's heart condition worsened. On that day, Duncan was fitted with a ventilator and renal dialysis equipment.

According to the Texas Department of Health, Duncan's body will be carried in sealed bags two layers, and the child was cremated. Family Duncan stated already agreed with the process. 

"Cremation will kill any virus in the body, so that the remains can be returned to the family. No protective equipment is needed to handle the remains after cremation," the ministry statement said.

Health officials are currently monitoring 48 people who allegedly was in contact with Duncan since arriving in America. However, of the 48 people so far this invisible symptoms of ebola.
